Chief Haakenson

Chief Royce A. Haakenson is a 30 veteran in the fire service. His fire service career began August 1, 1979 as a Fire Fighter/EMT. He has served in the following capacities: Fire Dispatcher, Paramedic, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, Training Officer, Haz Mat Officer, Fire Inspector, P.O.S.T. Certified Category I Officer, Fire/Arson Investigator, Juvenile Fire Setter Program Manager, Heavy Rescue Program Manager, Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program Manager, UTT-1 FEMA Urban Search and Rescue member, Utah Fire and Rescue Academy Adjunct Instructor, and retired after 23 years of military service from the Utah Air National Guard as an Air Force Crash Rescue Fire Fighter. Chief Haakenson is presently assigned in the Unified Fire Authority as the West Area Command Assistant Chief.
