Bio for Mike Watson, Unified Fire Authority

Mike is the proud father of his son, Bailey.

Mike was hired in 1991 and has specialized as a paramedic, hazardous materials technician and wildland specialist. He supervised the wildland program as a Captain from 2000 to 2004.

In the spring of 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief and assigned to supervise the training division. In the spring of 2006, He was assigned to supervise and manage the support division after being promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief.

He has earned a Supervisory Certificate from Salt Lake County government, an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Utah Valley University and two Fire Service Leadership Certificates from the University of Utah.

He has also served as the President of the Utah Paramedic Association and as a member of the Salt Lake-Tooele Applied Technology College Board of Trustees.

Hobbies include cycling, running and just about anything outdoors.
