Unified Fire Authority currently maintains two Heavy Rescue companies with 10 on duty personnel operating out of stations 110 and 121. Members of the Heavy Rescue companies are highly trained to technician level as per NFPA standards, in structural collapse, vehicle extrication, confined space, ropes and trench rescue. These units also support the Fire Authority with expertise in RIT response and also through specialized training delivery.
