The mission of the Unified Fire Authority (UFA) is to provide the citizens of the greater Salt Lake area with the most efficient, effective, and professional service possible in the areas of fire protection, medical, and emergency services.

The UFA uses a highly effective service delivery system designed to provide the quickest response to meet the needs of the citizens. This system is based on the concept of using cross-trained firefighters and support personnel, which also makes this system very cost-effective. Specifically, our personnel are trained to provide basic and advanced medical services, respond to hazardous materials incidents, handle heavy rescue operations, and offer emergency services through the management of the Emergency Operations Center.
